Greetings!
Today we have the full moon, with the moon in Leo and the sun in Aquarius. While many have been writing about the emphasis on love or getting fortunate breaks, there is another part to this full moon that I would like to discuss here, which is the fact that in a few days, the Pluto return for the USA becomes exact, an event centuries in the making. I have seen many articles about this over the last few years, as it has been a hot topic for astrologers for a long time now, but there are some facts that are being left out of the equation that are important details. First, there is no official astrological chart for the USA. And, there is the dilemma as to when the USA was actually founded. The traditional date, of course, is July 4th, 1776, but we have historical documents that say it happened before then. Others would contend that the actual birth of the USA was with the Articles of Confederation, and others say this event didn’t happen for a few years until the USA announced its presence on the global stage. Most of this is irrelevant to the conversation about this full moon, but it is important to keep in mind because it means there is no right or wrong way to interpret this time.
To bring this conversation back to the present, we shall focus on a key, shared impact that is happening right now, which is this particular full moon. Individually, yes, what you have read about focusing on love and possibly receiving good fortune is true and all well and good, but there is a subtlety that is happening now, that may impact you personally, as well as the USA as a whole. This is the presence of an aspect pattern called a “Yod.” This is also known as the “Finger of God,” or the “Finger of Fate,” for those that do not work with “God” in their lives. Regardless of the title you use, when it is present, it tells us that what happens now may simply be destined or fated to happen, and in this way, it tells us that now and in the near future, you may find fate steps in, or perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy comes to pass. Regardless, in these ways, it is telling us to expect the unexpected.
How will all of this happen, though? What I just said is a pretty broad statement, and could apply to any area of life, big or small, so let’s break down the details. The first point to know is that this “destiny” will occur in the life area where Capricorn, Pisces, or Leo is in your chart, so whatever houses (life areas) are ruled by these signs will be the main thoroughfare for which this will occur. That means that all of this is highly subjective to the individual experience, but there are still some general takeaways for all of us, regardless of whether or not we know our astrological chart.
The three signs involved should be studied: Capricorn, Pisces, and Leo. In this particular case, the sun in Aquarius is of tertiary but vital importance. Right now the bulk of the planets in astrology are moving through the signs Capricorn through Pisces, with a smattering of placements outside of that scope. These three signs constitute the fourth quadrant of the natural zodiacal wheel, and bluntly, the more they are represented in your chart, the more they reflect an older and/or more mature soul. In this way, the energy in the air right now is that of age, experience, and wisdom, but also endings. Capricorn is the establishment, with all of its long-time institutions, but also focuses on maturity. We can see how this applies to the USA as well as the experience of an individual. In the USA right now, there is a lot of emphasis on change, transparency, and social evolution. All of these are characteristics of not just Capricorn, but also Aquarius and Pisces.
While Capricorn is the energy of established authority and structures, both Aquarius and Pisces are the energies of the innovative and evolutionary. Both are visionary signs, and both encourage taking chances on the new things that are coming into being. They are both not specifically rebellious, but rather rebellious against that which is not working, or that which needs to be updated. Both of these can be antagonistic to Capricorn energy, but the wise application of Capricorn energy is to embrace the new, visionary, and cutting edge ideas that are coming along. Capricorn can be quite valuable here though because it provides the wisdom to bring these changes into being in structured ways. Without guidance, yes, Aquarius and Pisces can be quite rebellious for no reason, simply throwing out what they don’t like, rather than seeing the value of those things to other people.
In the USA, we see a lot of emphasis on this right now; adjusting from the established and old into the new, exploratory, and sometimes risky, ideas that are coming up in our evolution. Think of this in your personal life. What life area is this dance happening in for you, and what are you doing about it? To stay the same perpetually is to invite decay and pain, and has been proven time and again, adaptability is the way to succeed. By pondering this paragraph, you can see how there is a parallel between the Pluto return of the USA and your personal life, regardless of what country you inhabit.
Whereas the Capricorn energy is that of the established, Pisces energy is that of the spiritual. Capricorn is earth, so its focus is on the physical world, but Pisces is water, whose emphasis is on the non-physical. In common language, this means that now could be a time for a lot of spiritual growth for the species as a whole, but in order for this to happen, certain other things have to happen first. These have to do with the energy of Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign of groups, humanitarian endeavors, and non-profit organizations, so to connect the dots, we see a three-tier systematic approach to thinking about this.
First, we have Capricorn, the summation of what we have created for ourselves. Then comes along Aquarius energy, saying that now we have ourselves lined up, we can and should focus our energy on helping others. And last, Pisces comes along and says “Ok, great, and now that everyone is together, on the same page, and intellectually focused, let’s take things to a new level of depth as it pertains to our connection with the spirit world, and therefore how it applies to our individual growth and good as much as the growth and good of all. It’s an easy process, really. All it takes is courage and compassion.
And during the time of this full moon, we may find individually and collectively, that something unexpected comes along and urges us to adapt. The good news is that whatever this is, will ultimately be something to carry us to our greatest growth and good. This doesn’t mean it will be painless, but it does mean that the more we resist what arrives now, the more we are choosing to suffer. I have known plenty of people through my life that takes pride in being who they are now and makes the brazen claim that they are the same as they were when they were younger. Ewww, have you really thought about that? On one hand, it is good if it means you have an honor code and live it, but on the other, it could be bad because it shows a lack of introspection, reflection, and all-around resistance to change in light of new facts and life experiences.
So to summarize, as above, so below, as within, so without. We can watch what occurs in the USA over the next few weeks to see how this plays out, and we can see similar parallels and themes in our own lives. By contemplating this, we gain a better understanding of our connection with the greater multiverse, the macrocosm. A good motto to use during this time to keep you aligned with the energy until the next full moon is: “Thank you for unseen blessings already on their way.” Then, the essential point is to be open to receiving blessings, which of course means you must first be able to spot them when they come up. For some, this is no easy task, but for others, it is as natural as breathing. It can be a skill that can be developed though, and recognizing opportunities has been written about a lot in various areas of society, ranging from self-help books to business management practices, especially for entrepreneurs, so I won’t spend time on it here. Just keep it in mind while we move through this auspicious time.
And until we chat again, may we all receive the divine interventions that can help us ascend to the next level, individually and collectively.
Namaste,
