Greetings!
Earlier today we had the full moon, with the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon in Taurus. Both are fixed signs and opposite of each other in the zodiac. Being opposite, they share some traits in common, such as that both are fixed signs, and are passive elements. Thus people with heavy concentrations of either are set in their ways, but are also, generally, passive in nature. However, both are radically different in that the Taurus end of the spectrum is naturally more laid back, while the Scorpio end of the spectrum is much more driven, intense, and focused.
This brings us to the point of this full moon. What are you aiming for? One thing I’ve noticed lately in society is a lack of ambition in general. Who are you? Where are you going? After all, if you don’t choose your destiny, someone will for you. What is your passion? What are you doing to actualize it?
During this full moon, it is wise to express gratitude for what has brought you to this point, but it is also wise to formulate your plans for next year. After all, on the other side of the veil, time does not exist, so we should be thinking ahead, backwards, and presently. Reflection, projection, incubation, all of these things should be considered. Yes, it is harvest, but it is also the accounting. And perhaps, perhaps, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
There’s a lot of blah blah blah astrological talk out there as of late about this full moon, and let me just set the record straight. With Samhain on the horizon, this is the full moon of the reaper. What are you killing in order to produce new life? As Dr Carl Jung said, “there is no coming to consciousness without pain,” so what is your birthing caul? What is being shed, like the serpent? And, what are you opening up to welcoming? Now is the time to swing the sickle. Now is the time to swing the scythe, and to lay your life splayed out in front of you for gratitude and assessment. As I ended my book “Spirit Relations” with, let the choices of the living be made with the wisdom of the dead.
Blessings,
Bill
