Greetings!
Today we have the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, with the Moon itself in Gemini and the Sun in Sagittarius. In the USA this is known as the Beaver Moon. An aspect pattern is present with this full moon, giving us insight into the wisest direction to proceed, but before we get to that, let’s break down some eclipse basics. This is a lunar eclipse, and when it occurs, internal changes will play out over the next four and a half months. These changes will have to do with finding personal harmony between being singularly focused vs exploring a variety of pursuits. Part of this will also have to do with being a diplomat vs being straight forward and honest. Before the next full moon, we will even have a fairly rare celestial event known as the Grand Conjunction, which is being widely written about right now. I will have a piece on it in the upcoming issue of the Dolmen Chronicles online magazine, but in the meantime, suffice to know that this does not happen often, is generally beneficial, and has to do with finding the balance between yourself and society.
What makes this full moon especially interesting is that an aspect pattern known as a Yod is in effect. The easiest way to think of aspect patterns is that they are groups of aspects between planets that form an overall, larger pattern, and have a different but related impact. Usually, this impact would be on the individual who has it in their chart, but in this case, it is impacting us all. This Yod is occurring between the Moon in Gemini, Chiron retrograde in Aries, and Venus in Scorpio. The Yod is known as the “Finger of God” or the “Finger of Fate,” and when it is present in a natal chart, it tells us the person is blessed in some way regarding those planets, signs, and life areas that are represented by the houses. Obviously, when it is in the living sky, as it is today, it means something different. Let’s look at the components and put the whole thing together.
First, the Moon in Gemini and Sun in Sagittarius need the least amount of introductions. The Sun in Sagittarius is all about spirituality, travel, honesty, foreign influences, publishing, and the expansion of consciousness. The Moon in Gemini is all about learning through communication. It is also all about having a variety of interests, and many times being torn on how to emotionally proceed. Thus, the Full Moon between the two is all about finding that harmony. Externally, it is all about improving your ability to focus vs experiencing variety, and also knowing when to be direct and honest, and when to be diplomatic. The third piece of the Yod is Chiron retrograde, in Aries. Whenever Chiron is retrograde, it tells us natural healing skills are almost intuitive, and this is a good time to do some healing. The influence of Aries tells us this healing would be spiritual healing, mental healing, and especially focused on putting those healing skills into practice.
Thus, when you look at it, this Full Moon signifies the beginning of the psychological and spiritual healing processes. The duration for this is roughly four and a half months, meaning until approximately mid-April of 2021. The healing work you do now will have a special touch of divinity to it. This could make the healing go faster than expected, or perhaps address deeper issues than you thought existed. Most of this internal healing work will have to do with the mind, particularly when it comes to your willpower, sense of self, and sense of being.
The Venus in Scorpio component of the Yod tells us a lot of the healing themes may have to do with love, letting go of past wounds, and finding a healthy balance between work and recreation. Traditionally, Venus is considered weak and restricted when found in Scorpio, but this combination can also denote drive, intensity, focus, passion, and the enjoyment of working while stressed. As it applies to the rest of the Yod, we can see that it is telling us to enjoy the healing process and to stay focused on self-defined goals.
In some ways, this Full Moon is telling us that it is time to begin the healing process that 2020 has brought. But, this does not mean things will drastically calm down. Rather, we are starting to embark upon the ascent to normality. The work we do, individually and collectively, over the next four and a half months, will determine how high we soar in 2021. And, after 2020, I don’t know about you, but I am ready!
Blessings,
