Greetings!
Today we have the full moon, with the sun in Capricorn and the moon in Cancer. This is commonly known as the “Wolf Moon,” and I don’t know about you, but this one has hit hard, in a very wolfy way. There has been a lot of commotion and activity in my corner of the world, and from what I’m hearing from other people, I am not alone. Part of the reason for this is, of course, the full moon. But part of it is also stemming from the fact that Uranus is stationing direct. A planet’s stationing period is the amount of time between going either direct or retrograde, so it is a time of anything can happen when it comes to the traits of the planet. Uranus is the planet of individuality, rebellion, uniqueness, electricity, and the consciousness of the higher self or the holy guardian angel. In some ways, Uranus corresponds to chaos and the unexpected, too.
So, when you have the full moon and Uranus stationing, wow, what an explosive combination! I’m sure many of you have noticed that this full moon has a little bit more of a bite to it than others, and this is why. If you have not noticed this, then lucky you! Don’t be surprised if people you interact with tell you about their crazy Sunday and/or Monday. Uranus is in Taurus, so we’re specifically discussing the physical world manifestations of the Uranian traits mentioned above. I point this out because Venus is still retrograde, as is Mercury, and because of this, it may be hard to tell what life area corresponds to what. But, as I’m sure you see, there are layers and layers to this moment in time, and a lot of the theme has to do with internal review and plans for change. This is accentuated by the fact that the sun is conjunct Pluto, the planet of deep-rooted transformation and change. It is not quite time to roll out the changes though. This time period will occur between February 6th through April 28th. In other words, make your plans now, knowing that it will still be about three weeks until you can implement them. Not only is patience a virtue, it is also best served cold, like revenge.
So, what can we do in the meantime once we have our plans formulated? That’s the easy part. We can re-evaluate our minds. Our psyches can be manipulated to positive ends, as this is a strength of the current Mercury retrograde. When Mercury is retrograde, it is a good time to deepen and expand your meditation and meditative practices. Specifically, this occurs at ten days in from the start of the Mercury retrograde. That date is the 23rd of January, so within this week it is wise to meditate and give yourself extra time and energy to make the mental changes necessary to take you to the next level in your life, and therefore your soul’s overall growth.
But for this full moon, in particular, you may find it wise to look at your inner landscape and see where it is wise to rebel against yourself. What habits do you have that no longer serve your greater purpose? What character trait is still there simply because you haven’t bothered to change it? Whatever the answer is, now is the time to plan how to change it. Implement the changes later though, once February 6th rolls around. So this is the moon of planning and scheming, and isn’t that what predators like wolves, do? I find it so fascinating that these come together like this. Simply fascinating.
So I close early for now, but I am sure the themes of this full moon are clear, and all that is truly left to say is:
“Happy Hunting.”
Blessings,
