Happy Full Moon!

Greetings!

Today we have the full moon, with the sun in Libra and the moon in Aries. In addition to this, Pluto has been stationing, meaning that it is moving from retrograde to direct. Pluto is the planet of the underworld and all things dark. When I say dark, I am referring to things such as violence, etc, and not just what many people consider dark themes. While many may discuss the power of Pluto when it comes to deep-rooted transformation and change, it should never be forgotten that Pluto is a planet of violence and related kinds of darkness. When you couple that with the full moon we have and put into context of the recently ended Mercury retrograde, you can see that this weekend in particular, has a lot more punch than normal.

Specifically, this full moon is about love and how that relates to personal wounds. This is because Venus is with the sun right now in her sign of Libra, so this part of the energy is all about love, especially when it comes to relationships with other people. Opposing this high vibrational idea though is the moon in fiery Aries, and with the moon is the planetoid Chiron. In astrology, Chiron is the planet of the wound and the wounded healer, and when located in Aries, this has to do with a wounded sense of self and being. Because it is a full moon, we can see the tension is present between giving love in personal relationships vs loving one’s self. As has been said many times, if you want to receive love, you must not only project love, you must also * be* love. Self-love is highly accentuated right now, and it mostly has to do with your ability to give and receive love from others.

Additionally, Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Aries are conjunct, and both oppose Mercury in Virgo, which strains communication, and when put into context with what I said above, tells us that this may also be a time that feels like a minor Mercury retrograde, or perhaps a Mercury retrograde hangover, but the good news is that this will be fairly short-lived, only lasting a few days. This does mean that finding the right words to convey high-powered spiritual subjects may be a challenge. It could also mean that if someone is not paying attention to what you are saying, then they may miss the actual gist of what you are communicating. With Neptune and Jupiter both retrograde, this tells us that the inability to communicate clearly may not be the fault of the communicator but rather the audience because they are so embroiled in their inner world, demonstrated by the retrogrades. Regardless, you can see how communications, especially personal relationship ones, may be challenged too, and against a backdrop of Pluto stationing, empowered over the top by the full moon. Yowza!

All of this will clear up quickly, though, as you may find that things even out and settle down about midweek. Once Mercury gets firmly into Libra, you can expect your personal relationships to clear up, and all you will be dealing with is the aftermath of the last four weeks (Three weeks for the Mercury retrograde and then the week between the end of that and this full moon). One of the better ways to handle this intense period is with self-love, self-compassion, and through this, love and compassion for others. Additionally, once Pluto settles down, you may find it is a good time to make changes in society that have to do with the incorporation of spirituality into (and therefore fixing) long-standing institutions, but that is a discussion for another time. For now, remember the Thelemic axiom, “love is the law.”

Namaste,
