Happy Full Moon Scorpio!

Greetings!
Today we have the full moon in Scorpio, with the moon herself in the opposite sign of Taurus. Normally this would be a moon having to do with intensity and focus, as is evidenced by the fixed nature of both signs, but this year we find ourselves with a much different focus. Due to the current Mercury retrograde, and the transit of Mercury to the Sun yesterday, we find that the emphasis is on something much different. In esoteric astrology, fixed signs, and Scorpio in particular, has to do with the energy of the disciple, telling us that now, with the radically different energies in the air, it is time to reassess where you are a disciple in your life, especially as it pertains to your values.

Let’s clarify. Taurus is a sign that has to do with personal values, and Scorpio is the sign of discipleship. Many may think that a disciple follows a person, but in reality you can be a disciple of an idea or ideal. This is a point I mention often, in order to clarify for those that may not like blindly following a person. Narcissistic cults of personality are currently en vogue in this modern society, much to the detriment of quality in all areas of life, and because of this, it stands to reason that quality is getting lost in the sea of babbling voices and talking heads.

What does this have to do with this full moon, you may ask? Well, because of the internal focus and reflective nature of Mercury retrograde, now is a great time to listen to your greatest teacher-yourself, or if you prefer, your ascended self. During this time it would be wise to shut out the shallow and ignorant voices you are receiving from the media in all its forms, from social to print. What do you value? Do you still value the same things as you did a year ago, or have new values risen to prominence? What do you believe? And, most importantly, how do you live those principles, without being self-absorbed?

Both Scorpio and Taurus are fixed signs, meaning they prefer the status quo, but this also means that they can get stuck in a rut, unwilling to change. In what areas of your life are you stuck in a rut? And, more importantly, in what areas are you unwilling to change, even though you know the change would be for the better? What beliefs do you have that you have outgrown? What beliefs do you see others following that you know are toxic? And, if they are loved ones, what are you doing to raise their consciousness away from such outdated ideas?

Taurus is an earth sign, and Scorpio is water, telling us that this is also an excellent time to listen to your intuition, but temper it with practical application. How are you living your spirituality? How do you embody your beliefs? In what way are you a guiding light for those around you? It is during this quiet time of reflection that you can find answers to all of these questions. But, most importantly, it is also during this time that you can decide how to put your values into practice. In other words, what are you going to DO to make the world a better place, free of talking heads and narcissistic, shallow egos? After all, it all begins with do-ing, as the good phrase says…

Blessings,
