Greetings!
A little over an hour ago we had the full moon in Aquarius, with the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo. This also happens to be a lunar eclipse, and what a sight the moon was! On top of both of those, it was a supermoon. I’m not going to get into that facet of it too much though because if you’re like me, you’re already tired of sensationalized headlines and click-bait articles that talk about it. Rather, I would like to focus on what this means, and what you can do about it. The first point to know is that right now there is a focus on the energy of Aquarius, which is the energy of the group and humanitarian efforts. However, the converse is also true, in that there is a large emphasis on Leo energy, for that is where the Moon and the North Node are currently located. Leo is the sign of creativity, as well as optimism, generosity, and taking care of the self, and in theory so that you can take care of others. After all, being of service is one of the best things we can do to advance the evolution of our soul, as well as help the species ascend to the next level of development.
Lunar eclipses manifest internal results, and with the transiting Pluto Uranus square present, it tells us some of these internal results may have to do with your own personal transformation. What isn’t working in your life, and what are you going to do about it? The Uranus side of the equation tells us this is the perfect time to express your individual uniqueness, but be prepared for the backlash. Not everyone can handle an authentic person, so sometimes it is wise to play your personality and individuality like you would play cards out of a playing deck of cards. Sometimes it is wise to only partially reveal who and what you are, while sometimes you can show your whole hand. This discretion is wise to keep in mind at this time, especially since those internal epiphanies are coming. This Uranus Pluto square has been in effect for a long time now, so the good news is that it’s probably not going to bring anything up that is unexpected. Rather, you may find themes come back up to be addressed. How you address them may be determined by what you receive from the eclipse.
In a lot of ways, this full moon has to do with what is known as the Serenity Prayer. Without getting too deep into that, in short it basically reminds us to take control of what we can control, and if we can’t control something, it is wise to let it go and focus on what we can. Theoretically that seems very idyllic, but I don’t really know how many people truly grasp it. I see a lot of people caught up in the glamour of society, politics, and other red herrings, only to have their emotions and sense of being laid low when they look at what is going on in the world today. Well……. That’s a failure of the Serenity Prayer. Winston Churchill said “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks,” and those are truly wise words for this time. All of those manufactured distractions are the barking dogs, and it is only when we realize this and put self-discipline into practice that we can move ahead in our own spiritual evolution. This is one of many ways you can take care of yourself (Leo). This should be tempered with making decisions that are right for the greater whole and the greater good, though (Aquarius). The tricky part with that is that ~you ~ get to determine who is in your greater whole and how the greater good plays out in your own personal paradigm. I mention this here simply as a reminder to know your focus and limitations and work within them. Clearing your mind by meditating and reflecting on these two points is an excellent way to prepare for the revelations that are coming over the next couple of weeks. Aquarius is the sign of intelligence, the mind, and all things related to thinking things through, which means now is a wonderful time to plan for the upcoming year. The New Year, beginning on Spring Equinox, is right around the corner, so by tapping into these thoughts now, you can lay the foundation for what is coming, and by doing this, you become proactive, rather than reactive, and you cease to throw stones at dogs, preferring a casual jaunt instead.
