Greetings!
Today we have the full moon in Virgo, with the moon itself in Pisces. This kicks off a particularly powerful astrological week, so if you have not taken the time to center, focus, and ground, I would encourage you to do so before continuing. Ready? Okay, good. Let’s start with this full moon. This is a particularly active one for a few different reasons. First, this is happening in the late degrees of both Virgo and Pisces, so it is not a true Pisces/Virgo axis manifestation. On the cusp, this full moon means it will be as much Libra and Aries in its manifestation as it will be Virgo and Pisces. This is a huge detail to note because Virgo and Pisces are mutable signs, so they tend to manifest in a diffused, oftentimes gentle way. But, Aries and Libra are cardinal signs, which are much more aggressive and proactive in their manifestations. This means that even though the themes of hard work, daily life, health (Virgo), spirituality, psychism, energetic sensitivity, creativity, and being the visionary (Pisces) will come up over the next month, they will come up in aggressive and forward-thinking ways, rather than gentle and easy-to-work-with ways. I share this because I do not want to see anyone surprised as the fireworks start. Bluntly though, the way to work with all of this energy is to grow up, mature, and take charge of your life to the best of your abilities. This axis of Virgo and Pisces is sextiling Pluto in Capricorn, so the energy is conducive to transformation, both internally and externally.
Wednesday we have the equinox, which is the spring equinox in the southern hemisphere and the autumn equinox in the northern. This is a time of balancing, harmonizing, synthesis and bringing things into divine alignment. On that day itself, it would be wise to consider taking some time for yourself to reflect on what is out of balance in your life, and what you can do about it. If you are in the southern hemisphere, it is time to make your plans for the upcoming energetic year, and if you are in the northern, it is a good time to inventory what you have created this year, how long it will last, and how you can improve on it for the next energetic year.
Then next Monday, Mercury retrogrades in Libra, and it will stay that way until October 18th. This is the final period on the statement that is this week. We go from spiritual themes coming up dynamically because of the full moon, to a brief period to find balance within ourselves, and we then move on to wrapping up the projects, especially those that have to do with people, that need to be readdressed. Libra is the sign of personal relationships, but it is also the sign of justice, so themes of justice may come up as readily as themes of interpersonal relationships. Now you see why I said this is going to be a busy week! Even though the full moon kicks things off as I mentioned above, we will be dealing with those themes until mid-October, when the Mercury retrograde ends. It is going to be a week of ups and downs, adjustments, diplomacy, and innovation. Personal change and inspiration are also potential allies during this time, as we have a grand trine in air signs to accompany Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Keep in mind that currently we also have another five planets retrograde with Pluto (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Chiron), and with all of these being outer planets, we are reminded that now is the time to change who we are in order to better interact with society, and also that if we want to create changes in our community, now is the time to do it. Whether this is bringing a community together or disbanding one, the emphasis on change is still present.
The air grand trine is happening between Saturn, the North Node of the Moon, and Mars, and with us being on the threshold of the Sun moving into Libra, the dominant emphasis is on thought and the mental plane. Now is the time for inspiration. Now is the time for reaching out to people in the name of diplomacy and resolution. Now is the time to see new ideas for the upcoming year. The upcoming Mercury retrograde will help you sift through which ideas are worth keeping and which ones are not, so you don’t have to worry too much about that at the moment.
The hidden influence to watch for the next month is the interplay between the moon and Mars. As that relationship changes, situations in our lives will get activated, and whether or not we want to deal with them, they will be front and center in your face. Mars is not considered in a happy place while in Libra according to traditional astrology, so when these situations get activated, you may find that if you are not the instigator, they are activated in very direct and rude ways. In short, if you want to reach out to someone, or some people, now is the time, and it is better to be proactive rather than reactive.
If your personal relationships do not need this attention, then now is the time to bring situations into balance in your life. If you have been working too much, now is the time to stop and relax. If you have not been working enough, now is the time to get to work. Once the equinox fades into the background it will be time to begin wrapping up what still needs address because if you don’t, the Mercury retrograde will remind you. Even if you do, the Mercury retrograde will make sure that you execute a clean sweep of what needs to go before the end of the calendar year. In my recent horoscopes and other places, I have discussed the idea that now is the time to execute justice, too, and this is another component during this time. This comes with a caveat, though. Let’s say that you have been wronged and you decide to capitalize on this time to “right the wrong.” But then, in the process of that, you get even more screwed over, and you feel that was unfair. Well, sorry, kiddo, you got what you deserved. We may think our idea of justice is the correct idea of justice, but more often than not, that is not the case. This is the essence of the phrase “justice is blind.” Justice is justice, and if we seek justice and get screwed over in the process, then justice was still served, and the ego, pride, and arrogance are the problems. I offer this here to clarify what I have been writing about, but also to serve as a reminder as we get closer to this Mercury retrograde. What comes up to deal with may require us to humble ourselves before ourselves, and check our egos at the door. It’s a tough lesson, but the spiritually mature not only understand this, they have also been through this before and can offer assistance if you desire it.
Over the next month it is all about getting along with people, bringing balance to situations in our lives, and address situations that have to do with justice. The good news is that you will have the inspiration to deal with them, and the people skills to make things happen. The bad news is that you may be energetically more sensitive, so what comes up to be addressed may hit you in the heart more than you want. Centering, focusing and grounding during the equinox may be just what the doctor ordered, and when that is achieved, you may find you are more yourself, which empowers you to begin to wrap up the 2021 calendar year.
Blessings,
