Today we have the full moon in Cancer, and this may ring a bell of familiarity because we just had a full moon in Cancer on Summer Solstice, which means yes, it’s a blue moon. Some people think a blue moon is based on a calendar month, and part of that may be true, but the concept of a month is based on a lunar cycle, so two full moons in the same zodiacal sign is just as true, if not more so, than two full moons in a calendar month.
The question then becomes, what can we do with this energy, since it is not your normal full moon period? In this case, with the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn, we can definitely take this time to focus on who we are individually, specifically as it pertains to evaluation of where we’ve come from and where we plan on going from this point forward. Cancer is the sign of the home, the roots, tradition, and nurturing, whereas Capricorn is the sign of the career and occupation, as well as the maturing process to address the unknown, but being fully mindful that the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Thus this is the perfect time to find the balance between the home life and the work life, especially as it pertains to where you’re going from here. The biggest help available right now is a lot of emphasis on water signs, which tells us it is wise to listen to your intuition, but it is just as wise to keep your emotions in check in general. Yes, it is a good rule of thumb to focus on doing what you love to achieve greater success, but it is also wise to keep those same emotions under your control rather than them controlling you and your actions.
Sometimes this means going down roads in life that are not traditional, and that is quite okay. If everything was traditional, we’d never have growth, progress, or out of the box thinking. However, the converse is also true. If we completely ignore tradition and what has come before, then stability and wisdom are lacking. The secret to success lies in the middle and in your ability to harmonize both for maximum success. During this time I encourage you to take a look backwards in your life to see where you’ve come from, but then to plan how you will take charge of your future, given that fundamental information.
