Happy Full Moon Capricorn!

Today we have the last full moon of the year, and in some ways it feels like the culmination of the year’s astrological activity and energy in general. Well, at least that’s how it feels to me. It feels like this is the “catch your breath” time of the year, between the anti-climax or climax that December 21, 2012 was, and continuing our trek until 2015, when things quiet down, astrologically speaking, on a large scale. The Uranus/Pluto square is still in full effect, but is on its way out. Neptune has taken a more prominent role in things, lightening the tone and the mood. My question, though, is: “Can we all see the lightening of the tone en masse, or is the average person too shell shocked to notice a lightening of the mood?” In other words, has the average person been so polarized through fear based programming that they can’t see the silver lining? I know what the answer is to me; do you know what the answer is, to you?

Neptune’s arrival on the scene brings spirituality, metaphysics, and all related subjects to center stage. This tells us that the tendency will be towards more faith based ideologies, and convictions of faith, running rampant. Of course this is both good and bad. Bad, because there may be more religious fundamentalism and extremism as reasons for behavior, whether it is through organs like the WBC, or more extremist groups (insert flavor of the week terrorist organization). However, this is good, because there will be situations and beliefs that will come to the foreground to be addressed in a societal fashion. For example, current hot button topics such as the legalization of marijuana and LGBT rights may continue to be addressed. And yes, there will be more than just those two subjects. We’ve already seen a preview of this with derogatory comments made about women in the most recent US elections.

This is good because it forces us to step up into the 21st century when it comes to beliefs and evolution. This combination acts as a further catalyst for spiritual growth.

During this full moon, it is wise to contemplate your beliefs, where they come from, and why you believe them. Cancer is the sign of the home, but also of belonging to something, while Capricorn is the sign of maturity and wisdom. In some ways, this is halftime, so catch your breath, sit a spell, and reflect in order to grow higher during the upcoming year.

Blessings,
